RedM
Two people go shopping. They spend £54 and both hand over £30, splitting the chnge equally. One person bought something for themselves and it cost £10. Having both paid an equal amount how much does the person with the £10 item owe the other? £10 or £5. Ewen
Im really not understanding this....was the £10 spent after they spent £54 ??
RedM
No. As part of the £54 so they wouldn't have two transactions.
Pixelfill
I was basing it on the £10 being part of the initial £54 ... Which answer do you want Martin, was it you or the missus who spent the £10 on themselves. Mike
RedM
The missus.

Prof. Monkey
£10, what difference does it make if the person spent the 10, they are friends and that is cool!

Pixelfill
The missus. in that case it's £10 however in the real world unfortunately she owes you only £5. if you take away the £10 you've spent £44 between you - i.e. £22 each, you've paid £27, and she has only paid £17 (+10 on herself) therefore if she gives you £5 you have both spent £22 on the shared items. I thank you Mike

RedM
Settle for a BJ I'd settle for an acknowledment of my existence. Did you not get onto the French trip?
Thorin
Discounting the £10 item, it would have been £44. So thats £22 each, you actually each paid £27 ie. you each paid £5 more. So she's paid a fiver and you paid a fiver... and owes you. edit: pixelfill beat me to it. Damn him.
chilli
trick question? lol everything is equal (i.e. payed 50/50) so the one who didn't buy it paid half of something he or she didn't get, so the other person owes them £
Pixelfill
edit: pixelfill beat me to it.
