Which BLITZ boost controller

TRD3000GT

Recommended Posts

Ok,

I am going to be picking up a boost controller in the next week and I want advice on which one to be going for or which package...

Ive heard that the Blitz units have the best solenoids.. would any of you care to comment.

Im either going to get a

BLITZ SBC i-Color

or a

BLITZ SBC-ID III and the BLITZ Power Meter ID III to go next to it..

I think the second choice looks VERY good as it will fit my spare DIN hole perfectly.

The first colour one looks trick and Im pretty sure it has most of the same functions as the two older units....

Im ordering in the next week so I need answer soon!

BLITZ SBC-ID III, all day long.

I have tried Apexi, HKS and the above holds boost the beat as its a Dual solenoid.

The colour one is nice, put I'm sure you can but the extra £200 to better use ;)

I also had the Power Meter ID III, it's OK, but don't wast your money.

Interesting to hear - I'm looking into the Motec myself and had just presumed that I'd be able to use their boost control, traction etc to save having extra stuff around the place - if it's inferior I might have to reconsider.

Chris I have the colour option - does both options with a few pluses

Improvements over the SBC include a boost map based on rpm - rather than just speed - also the ability to input lots of other data and produce your own afr / bhp maps etc

Not by any means perfect - but definately a consideration

Size-wise - 1/2 height will fit below the stereo

Come and have a look if interested

I've got an SBC ID and powermeter - Very handy to be able to change boost on the fly michael, which you can't do without a laptop with the ECU set boost levels.

Powermeter looks good, and it's cool to get BHP readings from your acceleration, but ultimately it's pointless. Good for filling a gap in your dashboard.

I suppose some people might find that handy - I have the AVC-R at the moment and have never used the 'B' setting, I tend to regulate boost with my foot when necessary.

A lot of the extras the dedicated units give would be handy though, like the extra 10% you can dial in for full throttle for a set amount of time etc

I just like being able to say: "Hmm, I'm not in the mood for 1.2 bar today..."

Plus, you can adjust with the weather, crank up the boost when the weather's better, drop it in the cold (Hits 1.2 far too easily in winter!)

If you have the SBC-ID and Power Meter ID combo, I'm pretty sure you can do boost vs RPM also - pretty sure it was in the menu's when I was playing with this combo on my JZA70.

Cheers,

Brian.

Nope, sorry.

You can do speed / horsepower. There's no RPM feed into that combo, only the boost and speed. You _can_ use the auxilliary harness to read off three more sensor feeds from the ECu, like water temp, inlet air temp, or whatever you feel like splicing into.
