Tyre dims for 18 wheels?

To maintain speedo accuracy, if your car left the factory on 17’s the rears should be 255 35 18. but 265 35 18 , 275 30 18 and 285 30 18 are common choices. Fronts 235 40 18 or 245 40 18

If your car started life with 16’s then 275 35 18 are best for speed accuracy followed closely followed by 285 35 18, same choice of fronts as above.

Thanks Phil nice one, I think my car started life with 17's as it is a 93/94 GZ and the sticker inside the door makes references to 17's.

Ah..... no it didn't. Just looked at the sticker again and it started life with 16's.

Will go for your other recommendation instead.

Supragal is right Justin, you too can turn your car in to a paper weight, stick some 345 25 18's on, still speedo accurate too.

If you really want to spread your rear you could get some 16's and go for 445 25 16 only 0.2mph out at 60.

You may need a kit wider than Supragal’s to fit them in though:p

We need a smiley face with something going over it's head :)

Methinks Termie meant that your speedo is still accurate as it reads 0 at 0mph :D :D

Notice how you get abuse in loads of threads as soon as no-one has anything to do?

So can I have some confirmation do 285's and 295's both fit ok on the back of a Sup? Ive gotta get some new tires that all...

Thanks..

There's a wheel upgrade calculator on the web somewhere, can't remember the link though, sorry...

FYI I have 275/35ZR18 and 245/40/ZR18 and at the time was told these would give the closest rolling radius to stock for an upgraded wheel/tyre combo.

Cheers Nick,

I'm gonna be running 19's and want to know how wide I can go on the rears without rubbin the arches? And am I going to get more grip from say 285/295 over 275 etc...?
