RedM
I'm going to replace my yellow Bilsteins with the same but I'd like the car to sit a little lower. I was looking at the Eibach Pro springs but I think they might lower the car too much, especially at the front. I think Chris Wilson said something like 15mm front and 25mm rear maximum before the handling etc was effected. So, when traders offer Eibachs which ones are they and what kind of drop do they have? Oh, I would look at the Eibach site but it's blocked at work for some reason!
Ben-san
I've got yellow billies & eibach springs combo on mine, and the car has been noted to be a lot lower than standard. Not sure how this was acheived, hopefully someone will be along to tell us the differences.
jamesmark
martin, take my car as an example you have seen how low mines is and that a 38 mm drop but remember your running stock so you are less likely to catch anything, unlike what i did
RedM
As I understand it, that 38mm drop is too much and upsets the handling, ride etc.
Guest Bijal
As I understand it, that 38mm drop is too much and upsets the handling, ride etc. according to your understanding, in what way do you think it upsets the handling/ride? you mean the comfort zone or the racing zone? RedM
I don't do any racing so I'm not bothered about anything that works on a track.
Nic
Martin this is the part number for the Supra Pro Spring Kit 8222.140 Eibach Pro Kit Springs Drop is around 25mm rear, 30mm front
RedM
Seems like a lot of drop there. I didn't think they were that much. Not only do I want to preserve handling and ride but I also have a nasty drive that a car that sits too low would have issues with. Chris Wilson says "20 mm at the front, 15 at the back max. The kinematics go to hell any lower than that. I drew up all the suspension in a geo programme once, so it's fact, not feeling I am spouting.", which seems alright by me. What springs will give me this drop without requiring any tedious fiddling?
Lucifer
You need to find springs slightly igher than that so to account for sag and load.
RedM
Gee, why didn't I think of that? Any recommendations, O taker of my hard-earned?
jamesmark
martin now that my motor is stitting right you will be able to see what drop the eibachs had, but the only thing is that my koni's have a three stage height adjustment by 12mm
