francis
Hi there guys Well driving back from work today, suddenly noticed a ticking noise coming from the passenger side wheel that seems to go with each wheel rotation, almost as if something was scraping the arch every on every rotation - only happens when moving so it doesn't seem to be coming from the engine. Took it to Kwik Fit thinking it might be a nail or something, the guy jacked it up and rotated the wheel but couldn't find anything. Any ideas for when I take a look after the rain's cleared up? Cheers, Francis

chilli
that's what I thought, or a nail or something?
francis
Hmm that's what I thought but when we turned the tyre around only found one smal stone which was removed and hasn't made a difference.

Thorin
Mine does it occasionally when first setting off in a morning, stops after braking a couple of times. I know I don't have the antisqueal shims fitted and I think the pads move around a bit more as a result possibly? I think it's just something catching slightly but settles into place once you brake. merckx
On the pads there's a small metal clip that scrapes against the disc to let you know the friction material is nearly all worn out.
