Thorin
Lawnmower Deth are always good for a laugh. A mate at Uni had a collection of autographed rizla packets, he had one from the lead singer guy in Lawnmower Deth and guitarist in Canibal corpse I believe... A bit too much for my musical tastes. Animal
Lawnmower Death were fun, and another one from up your way - Acid Reign, from Huddersfield I think. Best bits of band stuff I have is the original (banned) sleeve for Xentrix's Ghostbusters single and a signed drum skin from Megadeth
Thorin
Never heard anything by G/Z/R, I'll have to have a search when I get my internet back at home Drive Boy Shooting, and Man in a suitcase are good first songs to listen to.

RedM
Oh my god. I might have to go along to that. I didn't realise Xentrix were still going. What is it now? About 20 years? What do they sound like now? They used to be the UK version of Metallica back when Metallica were good.
RedM
Christ, I was at this gig! Damn, there was a flyer on their site from a show back in the 90's feat. Testament. I was there. Woot! Tried to upload it but it doesn't show up!
Animal
Xentrix re-formed earlier this year to play 2 one-off gigs for Macka's 40th. One in Barrow and one in Preston. I went to the Preston gig and they were awesome, definately one of the best metal bands to come out of England. I'm gonna try and make the Bradford gig, too. It has to be done. Charlotte
So, i was thinking about this topic on the way to work. Does anyone 'dig' female punk type bands like Sleater Kinney? It just struck me that no one mentioned any bands with female vocalist which i personally prefer.

Pete
Pete: The Yeastie Girls eh! I'm assuming you heard of them via Consolidated? To be honest I could only remember the lyrics and I threw them into Google to come up with a name. I see it's Consolidated Featuring the Yeastie Girls. Only track I've had - was given to me by a mate many many years ago.
RedM
Up until a few years ago I could have been a poster child for Consolidated. Socio-political rap over an industrial soundtrack. Impeccable politics if you are of the very far left persuasion. Check out The Myth of Rock and Play More Music if you can. Fave Cons quote: Int: People say to me "Consolidated. They're a bunch of hypocrits". What do you think about that? Consolidated: Well... yes we are (perfect pause) but for the left.
Charlotte
Female vocalists/rock bands rule, if you can get past the 'i bleed 24-7' vibe some of them have. Katatrophy Wife DrugStore Angelica (one of my particular favourites being 'bring her head back to me') The Breeders (of course) Yeah Yeah Yeah's And many more. I'm not a massive fan of Hole - apart from on SingStar Karaoke thing on the PS2 great for practicing to be Courtney. Not heard of the other two, i'll have to give them a listen.
