Failed MOT on emissions

i would have hazarded a guess at an O2 sensor but i wouldn't have thought a 97 car would have trouble with that (although it's still nine years old i suppose). am sure someone will be along to actually help you out soon enough mate :D

Moist, the lambda sensor is on the exhaust downpipe, before the first cat. 20mm spanner required to turn it & get it out. Has 4 leads.

It must've changed on the later cars, mine had two 8mm or 10mm nuts to undo. :)

Thanks for your help Guys,

Got a new Lambda sensor fitted today and it sailed through the MOT.

Gave Steve Manley a call and he located the part I needed. Brilliant service, well recommended.:thanks:
