Guest Usmann A
Hi all, Just cam back from Thor today, and must say their dynapack is brilliant bit of kit. First of all big RESPECT to the dynamic duo "Darren J" and his bruv "Pete" for thier offering us too come along. We were joined by a nice selection of cosworths, which were well sorted. Anyway, we got on the dynapack, at 1.3 ish bar boost the car made 378 hp at the hubs. Then after Pete sorted out the fuel curve, and made the power and tourqe curves quite smooth, this then gave 425 hp at the hubs.(at around 1.46 ish ) Then, after some more clever adjustments, it soared the dyno at 443.1 hp at the hubs peaking at 1.5 bar boost. Pete, says next time he will get it to hold 1.5 a lot longer. All in all, we are very happy. Now where else can you get 66 hub hp for £75. What is 444 (hub)hp at the engine? Thor rocks! woooooooooooooot! Oh,If anyone wants to see the printout, Ill email it them.

Timwildman
What type of ECU have you got? I presume the exrta power was from adjusting this. As you say, not a bad power hike for a few quid, good work.
Guest Usmann A
Stock ecu, he ahcived a better torque and power figure by getting the fuelling near bang on. It was quite a bit out to begin with, so by pete, working his magic, he made the fueling graph as flat and smooth as possible. Which in turn, ovbiously makes it run better... Thorin
It's very rough and only an estimation but we worked out that adding 11% to hub power is a good estimate for engine power, so ~493bhp. Nice!

I'm confused (dont take alot) so how did you change the fueling, just new fuel pump, and pressure regulator? or bigger injectors etc... Or Can you adjust the stock ECU
Guest Usmann A
Tim, we have an SAFC, i know its not the best fueling device, but lets the user to make adjustments at certain intervals across the rpm range. Micheal, Thats a nice figure, Pete said about 510-520 ish flywheel hp, how did you get 11%, care to explain... ?
Guest Usmann A
The afc, does not so much let you control how much fuel is going in and out, but lets you adjust the mixture of air/fuel. So, by adjusting the points to near good mixtures, it helps make the whole curve flatter.....
Timwildman
ah I see, if you adjust what the car thinks it's flowing in, air wise, the stock ecu will add more fuel. To keep the air fuel mix right.. Is this right? just guessing.

There was a thread the other week where people were comparing their wheel HP figures against hub HP figures when they'd had it on Thor's Dynapack. 11% seemed like a good estimate. Guest Usmann A
Im unsure about the full workings of the afc meslelf. But, ill look deeper into it.....
darren j adams
Hi ali Great time had by all hope the car feels much better on road. My brothers clutch let go so i put it on 1.3 bar so the clutch had a chance. We could not floor it , we could only use 3/4 throttle no dis respect as your car is flying . We are getting the carbon, carbon ,rps clutch in jan. Pete wont take it out again so he dos'nt break the clutch for me. Your car looked brill on the road shame about the traffic. Ali your cars fat and very nice. Darren and the lardy supra.
Guest Usmann A
Hey D, yeah, nice drive back. Shame about the clutch, thats why I was wondering, why hell is pete kind of hesitating? Stuff it, your car would kick our arse anyway. Im gonna order the port polishing kit, then we'll arrange something, and you can help me take the manifold off. Tell pete, that thing looks not half bad for a usually, black coloured lardy uk spec thingie. YHM.
