MaveriK
Ok, i am not the best at this sort of thing and didnt trust myself so gave the gauges etc to a friend who said he is handy at such things. Got them back and he bitched saying he had a hell of a job as the only way to get the new dials on was to remove the needles. Was my own fault as i didnt say to him not to remove them so am i going to have to recalibrate these gauges now and if so how??
Dragonball
Oh bugger.... Fill up the petrol tank Get someone to drive next to you at 30 and see how yours are Tickover - 600/650 rpm (have you got apexi fitted - that will show tickover) Err.... ChrisSZ
He's right dude - they fit behind the needles!! You can recalibrate your speedo using a GPS system (Roadangel etc.) and keep driving/moving the needle till it reads right. Set the rpm needle to the correct idle speed, allow the car to warm up thoroughly and stick the thermostat needle about half-way up. Fuel gauge needle - fill her up and stick it just past the full mark. You may need to fiddle around a little to get them exactly right but that should do it :)

merckx
Yes, the needles do have to be removed! Took a few attempts to get them in the right place again, don't push them on too hard unless you're sure they're correct.
pistonbroke
Speaking of E-glo dials, Paul, any news on mine?
carl0s
Petrol guage has got to be the only difficult one. Tacho goes on at 650 like Paul says, speedo goes on at zero. Engine warmed up, temp goes in the middle...
Steviekid
speedo goes on at zero I found it wasn't as simple as that when I did mine. The speedo needle is resting on the plastic bit and the little shaft it's on springs further round to the left when the needle is removed. When I stuck it back on at 0mph it was way out and I had to get a mate to pace me and set it while driving.
Bob
With the engine off, put the speedo and revs needles on pointed straight down, then turn them round before replacing the little plastic stoppers. That should have them pretty damn close (worked on mine anyway).
TrickTT
Petrol: fill the tank up then put it at full Temp: in the middle with the engine fully warmed up rpm: 650 at warm tickover (aircon off) speedo: engine on, car stationery, put the needle just the wrong side or the stopper, then lift it over the little peg so it sits on

In my case it just went straight on at zero. My speedo overreads by a healthy 10%.
