merckx Posted May 15, 2006 Share Posted May 15, 2006 I failed the MOT because of the emissions, it was also running very rich which showed up with the sooty plugs. Think I read somewhere that if it stops working then the ECU will richen the mixture to prevent engine damage. If you've got a multimeter it can be tested to some extent, I couldn't do mine as the later cars don't have the pins to measure from. You'll have to do a search for that stuff- I've forgotten.
