RedM
I know there are a few physios and bodybuilders on here so I need your help. I need some exercise to help strengthen my neck muscles. Ideally they'd be the kind that I can do sat at my desk or watching TV. Anyone?

garetheves
Got a few good ones for you. Dont know bout doing them at work though, might get a few funny looks. 1. Lie on your back on the floor, roll a small towel up and place under your NECK. Then try and squash the towel with your neck, flattening it in the process. Hold 10 secs. 2. As above but put towel under back of head and squash it. Hold 10secs. 3. Same position as above but no towel. Lift your head off the floor so that chin moves towards chest, slowly, and hold for 5 secs before lowering slowly to floor again. 4. Static contractions in all movements of neck against resistance of your hand (ie hold hand against forehead and push into it, repeat at back of head and both sides). Hope they help. colsoop
Probbaly an intermediate excercise this one: Lie on a gym ball and place a towel on your fore head then put a weight disc on that and slowly move your head up and down concentrating on the neck. A similar sort of motion to doing crunches.
Rayman
Sounds like too much hard acceleration in the Supra has caused you neck problems?
RedM
If only. It's everything to do with poor ergonomics at work.
Pete
You really need to see a physio. If I told you the excersizes they told me, the chances are you wouldn't do them quite right and may cause more damage than good.
Charlotte
I agree with Pete. Go and get some advice. Or go to a nice massage parlour?
