Prof. Monkey
Well what should a NA AUTO be pushing out, when it is 13 years old, done 54,000 miles and has the following mods? XERD Header Blitz NURSpec SAFCII Large intake plenum, 75mm Throttle body and K&N Intake? Have a guess!

Prof. Monkey
So........? Do I in September: a) Go to Turbofit, spend some kahunna and make that a more attractive figure? b) Do it myself and save a shed load of cash, but with no comeback? c) Sell everything, run into the hills, strip naked and caress the nearest fir tree, letting the oozing sap run its course. Live in a IKEA box with a chaffinch called Gordon?

Prof. Monkey
He was bouncing off the rev limiter... Jim_supra said that it was an excellent result and my car felt very strong, he was trying to push it when it was set in "park" though. Rayman
So what does that equate to at the wheels?
Prof. Monkey
Depends on what you believe for transmission losses...... So I do not know really.
jim_supra
Depends on what you believe for transmission losses...... So I do not know really. If I remember correctly the figure was around 180bhp at the wheels.
colsoop
I went for option c Those figures look good.
Prof. Monkey
If I remember correctly the figure was around 180bhp at the wheels. That was before the remap!
mattanna
Forgive my ignorance but what does all this mean, when a car is stated as e.g 200 bhp in a magazine for instance does that mean at the wheels or at the fly!! double dutch to me please explain
ChrisSZ
Usually at the flywheel - bigger number sounds more impressive
Rayman
Yep if its coming from max power decrease another 200bhp to get the real figure !
Digsy
Proper OEM power figures are all stated at the flywheel. My bog-stock NA auto made a rather rmeasly 163rwhp the one and only time I took it to a dyno., The stock figure is 220bhp a the flywheel, so 230 is a good reault, a=but as you said yourself that could come at least partly from an overly pessimistic transmission loss factor - which is a subject that has to be honest been done to death on here.
