Ewen
Any point in putting ice in this ? Bruichladdich X4 - World's Strongest Whisky Dubbed "The Perilous Whisky", it's reported as the world's most alcoholic single malt ever made, with an alcohol content of 92% by volume. It's made by Bruichladdich Distillery Co. Ltd. of Scotland, using an ancient quadruple distilled recipe. They're only making making 12 barrels of this stuff. According to the distiller, it all started more than 300 years ago when the legendary traveller Martin Martin recorded his impressions after encountering a similar whisky on his visit to the Hebrides in 1695. In his travel book, "The Western Islands of Scotland", Martin refers to a quadruple distilled whisky known as usquebaugh-baul - the Gaelic for "perilous whisky" and wrote what is probably the world's oldest whisky tasting note: "the first taste affects all the members of the body: two spoonfuls of this last liquor is a sufficient dose; and if any man should exceed this, it would presently stop his breath, and endanger his life." You can buy a case of Bruichladdich X4, which comes in six bottles, for £300.00. xwhiskey

Guest Flat4_ire
while we are on the topic of strong stuff, i have tasted the worlds strongest beer in dublin last december. it was from hmm austria i think and its called Samichlaus bier and my god it took the head off me, these are in 330cl bottles and cost €8 each, but they are 15.7%!! i had 5 of these, then we went for the lighter alternative which was some 11.7% french stuff then and fell out of the pub!! Its a bit like 'authentic pizza' actually made in Germany etc. I try not to take the piss out of the gassy shite you get in most places (after all its needs all the flavour it can get), but Im talking real ale here....try some of the following, I value your critique.... Charlotte
Veggie is easy. Veganism, now that's hardcore. It's actually all hard. Every single dish is tailored around the meat and two veg system.

RedM
It's actually all hard. Every single dish is tailored around the meat and two veg system. Absolutely. When I lived darn south (or home as I call it still) it was really easy to by good vegetarian food. Even Tesco (West Durrington, Worthing) had a decent section or I could go into Brighton and shop at Infinity or the like. Up here in the North it's a fair bit less sophisticated. Supermarkets down south had Italian, Indian, Chinese etc sections. Up here is all called Foreign! So, partly because of the difficulty in getting proper veggie food I lapsed and then fell further. RedM
I'm having a spot of bother measuring the amount of Whisky in the glass. I'm adding coke (cuz I'm such a girl) and have been putting in about 3cm. I think I may feel a tad rough in the morning.

Well i find it hard but just thinking of meals to have. With the likes of Quorn now, it's very easy but why replace meat with meat replacement if you know what i mean. I'd rather try something natural. The thing that i find REALLY hard is sweets! I know that sounds stupid but most sweets have gelatine in them and i really miss haribo.
