Exhaust fell off- what are my options??

Hi all,

have a 1994 N?A jap import a couple of months. I thought it had got a bit noisy - the exhaust box is hanging off. Its an aftermarket RS-2 Exhaust Magic - the pipe was rusted to hell and it eventually snapped where the pipe joins the box- unrepairable it seems.

I'm not fussy what I replace with - where can I get a stock or a reasonably proced aftermarket system?

Have to get car through Irish MOT in a week or 2 and they'll check for emmissions and noise so it has to pass these!

From what I understand in the initial stock set-up there are 2 exhaust sections pipes splitting from the mid-pipe box (halfway down car) down to the exhaust box?? Mine currently has just one straight through pipe from the mid-box to the exhaust, which is dangling off..........do I need to replace the entire exhaust system or what??

any help greatly appreaciated

if the pipe is in decent nick then a back box will probably do but i'd go for a cat back system if you can afford it mate.

Cheers,

assume me to be the most ignorant person about cars ever to own a Supra....

whats a cat-back system? what kind of money? is the shop on here good

lol, there isn't a shop on here as such but a list of traders. any number of them can probably help you.

a cat back system means just that, from the end of the catalytic convertor backwards.

price wise you can probably get a mongoose or something similar for about £350-£400 or some of the more popular makes (i.e. blitz / greddy etc) for around the £500 mark.

i think Paul E has a Greddy Evo exhaust that's pretty good and not a bad price either.

Nice one,

there 2 cats , ya? one up at the engine end and another one half way down the exhaust pipe?

so a cat-back system is from halfway back?

Jeez, its a wonder I know where the steering wheel is!

lol, correct.

the good thing is that any exhaust for a MKIV supra will fit your car whether it's for a TT or an N/A.

take a look in the for sale section as well, some occassionally pop up there.
