Cleaning up my rear

Recommended Posts

Hi...

Has anyone removed the rear badges on a Supra before?

I was thinking about getting the Toyota badge removed (I'm told that using dental floss works well) but I am concerned about any problems with the exposed paintwork (metallic silver)

thanks as always.................

Gavin,

Did this on ours when i put the gold badges on, and to be honest the old badges did not leave a lot behind.

I used a flat plastic blade to remove the old badges and then some abrasive cleaning polish (a Turtle Wax one i think) to clean up the paintwork.

Was a bit easier than i expected, particularly when you think our car is black.

When you say "remove" do you mean entirely, or remove and replace with some other badge? Reason I ask is because the stock badge has 3 lugs that fit into corresponding holes in the rear door.

Ooops, what I mean't to say was remove completely the Toyota name not Toyota badge/symbol. It looks like the letters are individually stuck on.

A good way to do this is too get a hairdryer warm up the sticky part of the badges...and slowly pull off.....any residue left white spirit will get off followed by a dose of wax..! (20mins max to de-badge the rear of a supra Toyota badge and supra badge.)
