CJ
I have just bought this and was going to keep it "for a rainy day" but have decided to sell it and put my money back into the bank. For those of you who do not know Motec, they produce arguably the finest EMS's around. This model whilst not the latest, benefits from having had only limited use on a dyno and the latest software version available from Motec. As an added benefit, the Lamda control and logging function have been enabled. You will need to purchase a connecting harness for the Supra and these are approximately £70 from Motec. I also have a full PDF of the users manual and software updates are available FOC from Motec. List price for this fabulous EMS is £2929 broken down as follows: M800 (Windows based M8) £1899 Lamda enabled £475 Logging enabled £555 I am asking just £1000 including insured delivery. Pete
The M8 is the old version isn't it? M800 is the new one, smaller, lighter, faster ECU etc. The thing that put me off bidding was they say on the site "The M800 talks to most existing sensors within your vehicle, saving costly additions of new sensors." Which implies the old one needs special sensors or something?
CJ
The M8 is the old version isn't it? Yes, as i already said in the first post, it is not the latest. M800 is the new one, smaller, lighter, faster ECU etc. Smaller? No. Lighter? No Faster? Probably. More expensive by £2000? Definitely The thing that put me off bidding was they say on the site "The M800 talks to most existing sensors within your vehicle, saving costly additions of new sensors." Which implies the old one needs special sensors or something? Not according to Owen Developments who say that this can be fitted as is. And, seeing as they fitted my last one, i tend to listen to what they say. Hope that helps Pete
Pete
Hope that helps Pete Yep. Was seriously thinking of bidding on it myself at the time but I wet out as I don't understand this stuff and had visions of buying it and finding I need a million other parts Not sure who has had one running on a VVTi yet either? CJ
... Not sure who has had one running on a VVTi yet either? Chris Webley has.
Pete
Chris Webley has. Of course - and then some. There's said to be considerable gains to be had mapping the ecu on a stock engine due to the very rich standard oem map - It's not just to be considered as a requirement for single turbos. I'd love to see a standard ECU vs Motec ECU on fairly stock engine. Sorry - I'm waffling again.

I'd love to see a standard ECU vs Motec ECU on fairly stock engine. I was tempted to go down that route myself (albeit with an E-manage rather than a Motec) just to see what could be achieved. In the end I decided to go for looks rather than peformance this time so will be concentrating on the outside.
