Jake, it looks like you have the bigger brakes front and rear already (can just see the logo on the other pic I think), which is a bonus.

 

I would go with what has already been said, get the car thoroughly checked out and given a full service, with complete fluid, filter, pads (if needed) and plug change.

 

My advice would be to get the car in tip top mechanical condition first, then if there is any money left over think about mods

First thing I did on mine was an alarm/immobiliser - always something to consider!

mine must have had bigger ones then cos i was just gonna say in that pic they dont look that big at all there, i thouuught the brakes on mine held up pretty well!!
