wkdtime Posted May 8, 2006 Share Posted May 8, 2006 Just on my way from london with sum mates, there two cars my Supra and my mate in his Impreza, pull into a petrol station to fuel the old gal up and theres police thyre in a BMW and i thnk nothing of it, pay for my fuel and get back into the car, the cops are still there in the car and at this point i still think nothing of it. Me and my mate drive off and on our merry way home, i see the cops decide to follow behind at this point im thinking im sure my mates gonna get pulled, he has tints all way round and fuk his exhaust is loud. The cop overtakes my mate and is now level driving with me which is making me pretty nervous as both of them are just staring at us, he does this for around 1/4 mile no bull shit, and then pulls back behind my mate. Get to the a312 and hes still there and im, thinking "WTF either pull us or stop following us u fukin wa**er", carry on the stretch of the a312, i pull into second lane and my mate is now in the first the cop pulls behind me and is keeping his distance, i pull back into the first lane after 1/2 mile or so and he does the same, he the after a few miuntes like this pulls level with me and turns his siren on and tells me to pull over which i do. At this point i park up and wait for the officer, i see my mates pull up to and see that the one officer walks towards me and the other to my mates and they tell him to carry on with his journey WTF! I am told to step out of the car and asked random questions about where i am coming from and am going in a very direct tone, i am asked the usual questions and keep my calm cuz at this point i seriously wanted to hit the officer, everything checks out, he then asks when i got my MOT done and then with a tourch checks all the tyres and everything, again all is fine. I am then asked if i carry any weapons to which i reply no i dont, and before he said anything else i had to ask why the hell am i being pulled over to which he has not yet stated and says i should mind my language or a more thorough examination of my car will take place. the other officer spks to my mates and he has a strong nortern accent, and asks him if he has a visa to be here, you dumb bitch hes from manchhester can u not pick up the accent i was thinking. My mate said hes from manchester and was born here. The knew they had nothing on us and then run a breatherliser test on me and asked if take drugs, WTF, no i fukin dont i replied to which the officer replied if i carry talking SHIT like that ill be locked away. Im given a NIP i thnk to show docs etc, even though i had everything, they said i have to take it to the station. anyway eventually im back on my way home, now what fukin pissed me off is that they dint stop my mate even though he had a stupidly loud exhaust and tints all the way round, all my mates in the scoobie were white and did the officer know this? yes they fukin did because they got out at the petrol station to get crisps and stuff, DO i feel they were racist, yes they fukin were, im sure most of u will say no theyre not, and ur sure i have done summit wrong, well its bull shit and i did nothing wrong they were blaitantly out to get me, and they WERE racist, im sure there a minroity, but they exist and are fuking wankers. Just to add on average i get stopped 2-3 times a month were i live in feltham, majority white population, just like Ray whos a member on here we hardly meet nice cops. Wankers! Rant over. Not too sure about down south but i've had no problems up north from the police in terms of being pulled for no reason. Did he ever tell you why you were pulled? Lo, i know mate, i always keep my calm, i am stopped like 2-3 times a month, people say that cops are people to and can get offended when theyre stop, but so am i, i was persecuted, i was fukin followed for 3 miles, this is bull shit! One thing I always do which windes them up and irritates them is ask for their name and badge number. They can not refuse you this so keep a jot of whose/how many times you get pulled over a period of time and then file a complaint of harrasment or something. Do black/asian women or b/a middle aged people get pulled over all the time? No. They don't. Not in my experience anyway, not from what I've seen of people getting pulled over by the police. It's usually young black/asian males. So why is that? Is it because policemen are racist or is it because their experience has taught them that young black and asian men are more likely to be 'productive' stops in some way? I was just asking the question as to whether folks think the police are actually racist or whether they stop b/a folks because they have found that they nick more people that way. (ie stats, as you say) You asked 'Did you say anything about the policeforce as a whole?' but you also said you regularly get stopped, a few times a month IIRC. I presume you aren't getting stopped 25-35 time a year by the same few coppers, right? I'm a middle aged white bloke and yet I was stopped and breathalysed 10 times in 18 months (in the 1990s). Is that 'coz I is black'? No it's because I drive a fast car and am on the road when the pubs shut. Do I blame the police for pulling me over? No, cos it makes sense. I would pull me over, if I was a copper. All I was asking was whether the stats make sense for a cop to pull over a higher than average proportion of young black and asian males. I bet it does.
