wired in my boost gauge today, turnt her over, and nothing.

i followed this guide for wiring electrical http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=46044&highlight=boost+fitting

and this for pluming in the boost lines.

http://www.max-boost.co.uk/stuff/boost_gauge_pickup_point.jpg

i havent wired the illumination in yet, i have 3 wires, red, black and grey.

so i wired the red and and black in.

is using this location for 12v not good enough, do you think i should wire it into the stereo power?

i havent wired the illumination in as i was told the wire off the ciggie lighter source is grey, and it isnt.

it should still work if i havent wired the illumination in?

any help as what to do?

thanks

when i fitted mine

red to 12v ignition

black earth

orange/other was to permanant 12v, not illumination, i did wire it to illumination first and it did not work properly.

my boost guage was blitz electronic if that makes a difference

how does your gauge light up?

is it always on?

which wire is ignition?

thanks

guage lits up when i start the car regardless if the lights are on or not, i do have the mirror face if that makes a difference.

its only on if key is turned

ignition wire is when the meter(auto meter/circuit tester) reads 0v with ignition off and 12v ish with ignition on

i fed the vac hose through the yellow gromit near the accelerator peddle, through the drivers arch, and into the engine, then fed it accross, and plumed it into as shone in pic.

i just hope its not working due to the illumination not wired in, however, i thought it would come on with just 12v and earth.

perhaps that wiring diagram using the wires under the gear surround is pants

woohoo, wired it into the stereo loom and it works, sod using that diagram of mkiv.net.

one thin though, i cut the wire green and orange on the clock illumination into 2, then decided to wire the illumination into the stereo source.

so i then put the 2 wires i cut back together,

and ive taken out the illumination on the dial knobs, and buttons,

cant turn the aircon on?

looks like ill have to check the fuses, even though i did it all with the negative terminal off. any idea which fuse i should check.

oh, and im boosting around 0.6kgcm3 first tub then upto 0.8kgcm3 is that about right, i have both cats still, just front mount, cat back exhaust and filter
