LeeT
since doing my manual conversion i have two warning lights up, how do i get rid of them? the 1st one is diff oil light as ive removed the UK diff and fitted a 6spd jspec unit. the 2nd is trac off as ive done the trac delete by removing the throttle body butterfly. the trac ecu is also removed. something more constructive than just remove the bulbs would be good as i need to get rid of the big red light on the tacho too. LeeT
Easiest way would be to remove the bulbs but that would still leave the tacho main warning light on. ideally i'd like to keep the warning feature
JohnK
Interested in the answer myself.

If it was just the orange trac light flashing, then it would be easy just to pull the bulb.
JustGav
As far as the diff light goes.. get a wiring diagram and trace which wires are used for the sensor and then somehow give it a dummy reading, either earth or feed, depending on the type of sensor... The same MIGHT applicable to the TRAC system...
JohnK
Just looked in the manual, the Diff ECU is expecting a resistance across the sensor of 50 K ohms to 3.8 ohms which relates to an oil temp of -10 to +50c. Im no electrical expert so what resistor would I need to keep it happy - around 10c?
JohnK
Just checked the reading on my diff sensor, im getting 15 on the 2000k ohm scale, for some reason I cant get a good reading on the 200k scale. Any suggestions on resistor size anyone?
LeeT
thanks for the replies. anyone got wiring diagrams i can have a look at? John, i'll have a play with the diff light at the weekend and let you know the outcome
Kopite
My TRAC lights on too, going back up to Envy tomorrow, will ask them up there
SimonB
It'll be the diff one causing the main warning light to come on, the trac warning doesn't light the main one up so you can just remove the bulb for that one.
JohnK
Lee, do you have CJ's manuals? If so the diff info can be found on pages SA 121 to SA

JustGav
Got a wiring diagram here, will have a quick look to see if it goes to the diff level... Either that or just get potentiameter (variable resistor) between those values, and then you can dial it in to suit..
Homer
no, when i was ready to buy, he had stopped doing them Lee, I've got a copy of CJ's manuals here if you need to borrow them for a while. LeeT
Just had a last minute look at this before i set off for france. For JohnK To get rid of the warning light for the diff oil, i removed the box-like fuse in the drivers footwell. Its a pink one and is the centre one of the three. Then with the ignition on i shorted the two smaller gauge wires in the plug to the diff a couple of times and this got rid of the MIL light and the diff oil warning light. My Trac light is still on but that doesnt bother me as its not flashing and doesnt light up the MIL light
