Blue smoke?

Basically its the first time its happened since by stem seals have been changed, the car has been parked up for two weeks in one place aslso the battery was dead, just started it and it was fine, no blue smoke, left it to warm up on idle for ariund 10 mins, i started to reverse the car out and noticed a cloud of blue smoke which quickly cleared up, drove the car for 10 mins, parked it up and blipped the exhaust and no sign of blue smoke.

any ideas guys?

But im confused Homer, wouldnt it do that on start up if it were stem seal which i have recently replaced anyway, i only saw blue smoke after it was running for 10 mins and only when i started to reverse the car out the drive way, surely any oil would have been burnt at start up if it were the stems.

Sorry i should have made my post a little clearer..as 'homer' said a little smoke after the car has sat a long time isnt anything to worry about but i was meaning the stem seals turob seals will cause it to smoke most of the time .

In my experience, after long time idling the smoke will be much, much greater than any cold start. I sometimes get a tiny bit of smoke on startup but after a long idle it can belch out a good cloud on the 1st blip of the throttle. Mind you its been like this since I bought the car (30k miles ago) so its nothing to worry about :)
