Bleed valve position?

Recommended Posts

Hi

Can anyone please confirm the position for fitting a bleed valve.

I've done a search but I'm still not 100%.

I'm thinking Hose 1.

Hose 1 - the input to the VSV

Hose 2 - the output of the VSV which goes to the wastegate actuator.

Thanks

Mate,

Hose 1 is the output from the VSV back into the intake. Putting it here will do nothing. You really need to put it between the turbo & the actuator (not shown in pic). This is short hose above the actuator. I suppose putting it in Hose 2 will be ok as the VSV shuts when Turbo 2 operates so this hose is pressurised, therefore bleeding air off will still reduce the pressure on the actuator.
