b_have
Well, almost finished my 5 year service! Removed the engine and box, stripped/measured and rebuilt , head sent to mkivstore.com for full rebuild and multi angle seat cut. Repaired the loom (multihacked for zillions of piggybacks) fitted PE650s and Aero fpr, removed the entire a/c system (including the huge compressor). Fitting the engine in the morning ready for an EMU mapping session next week (palms sweating now!)

LeeT
Have you managed to get the aux belt tension right with the aircon compressor gone? i'd be interested to know that too. also part number of belt you finally used
b_have
i'd be interested to know that too. also part number of belt you finally used This was a bit of a mare, started by using the string method whilst loading the tensioner and came up with 1835mm ordered the belt and found it way to short. The length is calculated by the o/d of the belt not i/d. Re-measured and calculated 1865. Belt arrived today and is a perfect fit, bang in the middle of the oem tolerance. b_have
Finished! Made an extra effort to completely seal all my fmic/rad ducting. Ready for mapping the EMultimate on Saturday!

Whitesupraboy2
Nice one mate, See that 'size of my head' air filter fitted nicely in the end. How did you put it back in, Engine in through top, Gearbox in through bottom or all in one go through top this time?
SimonB
Wow, really nice job on the ducting there mate. I'd be very interested in how your mapping goes. Are you going to leave the airflow map at zero and use the injector map to scale fuel back? My EMU is not playing ball when I try and do that at the moment for some reason. Have you got a wideband wired in to the EMU?

Hey, its bigger than your head (except when your racing saxos) Yeah, invested in some 1 ton lifting strops so craned it in as a unit this time. You should be able to use the automap feature then, where it adjusts the fueling automatically to hit your target AFR. That's something I want to play with when I get my bloody injectors sorted! Did you get a spare injector (Jake?) Will be nice to compare with yours as we have a similar setup. You going to Japfest?

Yeah, Jake has very kindly offered to lend me one, I'm still trying to find someone to supply a new one! I'm not going to Japfest - I'm on the French trip instead. I'll be at JAE, and the local meet that wsb2 is organising in his usual highly efficient way...
ivan
Looks like a lot of good work there Charlie. Be nice to see it back up and running. WSB2 - get on with that local meet...
b_have
Right, up and running at last! As waiting for the EMU mapping, the stock ecu is controlling PE650s at idle @ 14.7 afr (albeit only 2 bar fuel pressure). Starts on the button. Pheew!
