Guest MarkTT
Just out of interest! What is the TT supra capable of being tuned to? Without replacing the turbos or engine internals?
Wipeout
Exhaust, De-cat and up the boost = 400 BHP ish. All for well under £1000 (depending on BLING factor of parts used) I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong.
Guest MarkTT
Yeah but what about with chipping, fuel pump, intake, upgraded IC etc.?
Patrick_Devlin
The skies the limit, well, your bank balance is really Well over 700 is not too difficult with the bits and pieces. Dont think Supras are the cars to "chip" though.

eyefi
stock turbo (style) limit is about 500 hp. an 18psi decatted supra is quite an effective street car. have a good search around. all the info's in here.

It should also be noted that thas a reliable 400 ponies just by taking the cats out, adding a £10 restrictor ring and FCD (J-spec).
Wipeout
Originally posted by MarkTT Yeah but what about with chipping, fuel pump, intake, upgraded IC etc.? All fueling is good for 400 hp, you will need to remove the fuel cut as Wez said. A good condition IC will cope with 400 hp aswell. Stock intake?? Some say leave it and some say change it. I guess it's up to you.
Need4Speed
Exhaust, De-cat and up the boost = 400 BHP ish. Optimistic for a J-spec with a std IC. My dyno figures for this were 360BHP. A decat will not increase power per-se, it will just allow the boost to increase and therefore increase power. You can get exactly the same figures with a boost controller and maintain total control of your boost. 400BHP is what I was told my engine produced ("no we haven't had it on a dyno/RR") but 360 was the actual figure. Thorin
Well I got 393bhp at Well Lane @ 1.25bar
Need4Speed
393 - Impressive figure. When I got my car and talked to a few people in the know they all reckoned 360 was more likely than 400, but then again I don't use more than 1.1 bar on the road. Maybe the extra boost you're running accounts for it. I use 1.2 on track but with octane booster. Sounds like a visit to the RR is in order. Steve W2
I am sure there are few other peeps running close to 400 ponies at that kind of turbo pressure.
Patrick_Devlin
367 rhhp at 1.2 bar (measured at THOR)
Steve W2
Originally posted by Patrick_Devlin 367 rhhp at 1.2 bar (measured at THOR) Patrick, what does that equate to at the crank? Are you auto or manual. 400 bhp with 20% transmission loss in 320 rwhp! COOL!
Thorin
Didn't we work out that crank power was ~11% higher than hub power for a manual? So ~407bhp?

Patrick_Devlin
I was quite happy with that figure Running lean as well at high boost, so once fuelling is sorted will hopefully see a few more gee-gees squeezed out!!!
Suprash
I made 357 rhhp at Thor http://www.platinumrogue.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/smilies/009.gif
