stock_supra
Ive just booked 2 weeks in florida for £399 using all the free discount vouchers on the internet. Ive been looking around for a suitable hire car and have found a ford mustang for £260 inc all insurances for 2 weeks. this is only £20 more expensive then the economy car (equil to a corsa). Just goes to show that savings you can make by shopping around.
Pete
How much extra fuel though? You'll cover a lot of miles over there.
Bobbeh
Have fun, I think you'll enjoy the new Stang. Sounds like you have the GT? The V6 isnt much to write home about. Cars out there are so much cheaper to rent, run and buy you can really have some fun

lust2luv
Cheers for the info. I don't want to rain on your parade or anything, but these rental companies never guarantee a particular car, it's "Mustang or similar", unless you pay a company like Hertz a huge premium. I'm not saying you won't get one, they just might give you a crappy Dodge instead.

True, but my experience (through ebookers) was that I was to get a 4x4 Chevy Blazer or similar - I ended up being given a top of the range Grand Cherokee Jeep - so it can swing both ways

I had a chrysler 300 c when i went to vegas last november. The car was terrible bad brakes, tacky interior and dodgy handling. I dont rate americian cars. I will report back on the mustang when i get back
