osso
Where is the dizzy cap on the Supra RZ-S VVTi? I just had a quick look now and i couldnt see it, getting dark out there ya see! I have a feeling its under the rocker cover where the spark plugs are am i right? or am i miles out!? I have a feeling that the Dizzy cap on the Supra is a mechanical device just like the MR2 GT Turbo which has a rotor arm that spins around and hits the contacts, if so i wanna check the internals because the contacts inside have a tendancy to oxidize.. you're probably wondering why i wanna check the dizzy cap? well i experienced some missfire today beyond 5k rpm and a puff of black smoke out the back.. I am tempted to get some new spark plugs, what would you guys recommend? i am running competely stock at the moment, but will be getting a decat pipe in a few weeks.. cheers James

Soonto_HAS_soop
Soop TT's have electronic coil packs that don't use anything like rotor/dizzy contacts, you sure you weren't hitting fuel cut or summit?? For plugs, try some Denso IK24's, I think that's what they are called, someone on here will be able to get you a set if needed. Ben.. Your first lesson is....... EFI = Electronic Fuel Injection, doesn't necessarily refer to the type of ignition system. SFI = Sequential Fuel Injection, injects fuel into single cylinders in a set pattern (EFI injects all 4/6 cylinders with fuel at once!) MFI = Crap flat pack company type thing MFFI = Mother fcuking Fuel Injection Ben..

TBI = Throttle body injection (also called SPFI or Single point fuel injection). Was the first stepping stone from carbs to EFI. Was going to post this earlier but didn't want to confuse things. Thought I'd wait until now to do that.
