markssupra
Thought I might have a go at this after seeing an earlier thread. Managed to make the cardboard template, and include the original air intakes and make it fully enclosed. Not much room left with the Apexi filter and pipe as its very close to the pipe going to the intercooler. Tomorrow I will undo the template and cut out some ally. (The hard bit)

chilli
oh looking good, nice work. Don't suppose you've got any means to measure the temps before and after once you've made it? Keep us posted on your progress
markssupra
Spent about 1 1/2 hrs messing around with it getting it to fit and line up with the intakes and pipework. See how it goes tomorrow. Good thought there mate, might have to stick a thermometer in there before and after.

Pete
Group buy? Please can you post the schematics - I assume it was CAD rendered first for accuracy? I'm sure Colin could polish it up for ya.

Pete
I can see the headlines - "Car goes up in flames after owner installs cardboard box into engine bay"
colsoop
Looks like a good design. What thickness aluminium are you using ? I just used a jigsaw with a metal blade yo cut out parts it worked well. How are you fixing the box in to place ? See attached pic of my old airbox in situ.
markssupra
I can see the headlines - "Car goes up in flames after owner installs cardboard box into engine bay" Whats wrong with cardboard, its easy to bend. It will, of coarse, be a full 3D CAD model and rendered suitable for large scale production. I got some 2mm ally sheet, bit harder to bend but it was easy to hold of. I will post more pics as production comes along.
