lights on dash developed & some other technical stuff

Recommended Posts

right guys.

I had problem develop yesterday where my CAT & Battery light & oil level light stayed on to long when starting car.

Oil was low so topped up and put brake fluid in just in case. It still happened when braking....even very soft braking!!

Now its on constantly. What i did notice is that when i pull away a bit jumpy the lights jump on and off.

What could this be?

does it mean my car wont be charging as the battery light is on? I changed my plugs on monday and i guess it started happening around then. Im an NA as well.

Ohh is there a way to check gearbox level of oil? dip stick anywhere?

thanks

I noticed all 3 staying on longer on start up.

Then all coming on when braking

now all 3 on permantly!

Just updated my AA cover incase my battery isnt charging and i die on way to work.

I dont think this is problem all fluids are up to date etc...

sorted..... ive taken off the 2 connectors that was on the throttle body before. Blew in them...got crap in my eye....went into the house, turned the tap on...

sorry got side tracked there :p

Anyway pulled fuses, just gone for 15miles drive....and not one blink of the light. I think it was a loose connection or dirt stopping a plug connecting properly.... :D

well done, just a couple of thousand miles before you change them again and break something else :D :search:

mate i broke it quicker then that.

Done spark plugs at mine and after thread about spark plug charlie said he would give me compression check (passed with flying colours 185) anyway

i go to pull HT lead off.....pull off....the inside of the HT lead is still on the plug :(

drove home with misfire :( now i knew watching blue peter would come in handy.

You'll need:

1 broke HT lead

1 pair of siccors

1 kettle lead

Take kettle lead and strip down to the eletric wire, strip 2 bits same length and twist together. Stuff inside HT lead end until full, whack on to spark plug untill tight.

Drive car away

works a treat....dont worry ive got some HT leads coming.....just got to fit them now  :taped:
