He really only wants a camera, but what I'd really like to buy him was a camcorder/camera combo. I like the Sony DCD-DVD403 but its around £1200 Budget around £300/400 so nothing to fancy please. camera - easy to use - around 5mg pixel - SD Format - USB (Mac and PC) - Zoom, Flash etc.. camcorder - NOT DVD! - doesn't need to be HDV Recording - SD Format Recording (if possible) - Long battery. I'm sure he'd struggle with something so small. He's from the old-school, Big strong and mechanical is what he's into. None of this micro stuff.
