whitesupratt
I posted up a little while ago, that when i slam on the brakes, my engine warning light and handbrake light come on. My brake fluid is at the top, and now about 2 months later, the light not only comes on when braking, but randonly while im driving, staying on or various amounts of time, then goes off! There seems to be no fault on the ECU, and the fluid is still ok. a dodgy sensor maybe? either way, it's getting worse, my normal theory is wait until it brakes then you find out the probem, this is baffling me though! I did get a 2nd hand ABS sensor for the nearside front in November but this problem only started in Feb.
Thorin
Mine was doing it when the brake fluid was about 2mm below the line, topped it up slightly over the line and it was fine. If it were just when braking I'd say it was definately that... with it just being seemingly random I don't know, possibly dodgy sensor or connection. Supra Steve 856
i had this same problem, first check how much you have left on your break pads, they may need changing, also in my case it was definately low fluid, just topped it up abit and it worked. one thing tho, if you top this fluid up, just beware when changing your pads, as this will most definately overflow! (as i found out..... what a mess ) hope that helps
whitesupratt
My pads seem ok, Not knackered but not new. My rears have started to squeek a lot recently tho!
dangerous brain
Could be a dodgy handbrake switch mate. Its on the handbrake quadrant. Unplug it see if you still get the light.
normore1
Check your oil level. Low engine oil will trigger the "Check engine" light especially when braking. Usually you should also see the oil level light come on intermittently but it may not be working.
