Gaz6002
You have to go to a DVLA regional office, mine is in Reading. Don't forget to get your MOT cert changed as well, I was told to do this by the police when I was given a producer

Jake
Take ALL your docs (mot, tax, insurance, log book) to the licensing office. They'll take them off you (and the money) and send you replacement ones with the new number about 10 days later. Edit to add: Take cash. IIRC they don't take credit/debit cards Find your local licensing office here: http://www.dvla.gov.uk/local/lo_map.htm
Gaz6002
you have to take the car back to the place you got the MOT done and they can re-issue your cert. Don't take this as writ though as I was told this by a fake cop on the front desk at Basingstoke police station. Could be wrong

Jake
OK, if it's on a current retension cert you won't have to pay. you still need to take all the docs to your local office. You can get the v55 there and fill it in while you're waiting.
