yeh but the difference is Utd were one of several clubs which competed for the signings of great players but chelsea have just made the transfer market a farce and i know they have that Russian maffia erm i mean business man behind them :D but when you look at them as a business they dont make sense!! there losing money left right and centre and even though the russian has 2 billion in the bank, chelea have already eaten over half a billion of his money!!

Cough****money laundering****Cough

:p :p

who were they competing with? arsenal, leeds for one season, blackburn for one season? i remember van nistlerooy was meant to be coming to chelsea then united stepped in with thier vast wealth and nabbed him. and its closer to 10 billion now, so hey every man needs a hobby:D

no i meant competing to sign for players across europe like ronaldinio etc but when another one comes along unless that player has a perticular reason to sign for a certain club theres only one club which will sign them!! just take SWP what a waste, Duff even Joe cole to a certain degree all top players and none of which get week in week out first team football?? a waste if you ask me.

in his last Inland Revenue audit mr chelsea has wealth and assets worth approx 2.5 billion, dont believe everything you read in the paper ;) but to be faor to him most of it is cold hard cash!! unlike most the other richest people

we tried to sign adriano and shevchenko last year but they wouldnt come. and theo walcott went to arsenal when chelsea ofered him more money.i would give my right arm for henri but he wont come either.we may have the money but still not sas big a draw as barca, madrid or AC. SWP has had chances, although limited, but has done nothing. perhaps he is asked to play in a way that doesnt suit him, i dont know. duff was ever present last year, but not been as good this year and he has had injuries

It amazes me that people knock Chelsea for buying the best players and being the best team. At one stage (not so long ago) Man U had the record spend for almost every position on the park - how quickly their fans forget eh? And then there are the scousers. Tune in to Radio 5 live phone in and listen to them as they moan about sacking whoever the latest manager is and continuallly hark back to the 80's when they weer a decent team. Oh, and dont forget at the begining of the seaon they were also burning effigy's of a certain Stephen Gerrard only to suddenly change their minds and put him back on a pedestal.

I read the comments and they all reak of petty jealousy.

So Liverpool aren't a decent team right now? Sorry i thought that being European Champions, joint 2nd in the league and in the FA Cup Final was decent going.

Jealousy? No chance. Chelsea are just a bunch of cheats with the likes of Drogba, Robben etc. No sportsmanship on the pitch and constant whinging if they don't win. Gerrard is loved by a lot of the fans again, he's a world class player but i'm still not kissing his arse. The true fan's favourite is Fowler because of his love of the club

Far from jealous mate, like liverpool we have been there done that and still there.

Yes well done to them but if they didnt have 270m to spend would they be there?? so unlike man u, liverpool etc who yes spend alot on players but only tends to be 1 or 2 big signings a season not 10 or 12 ;)

Trust me they would swap this championship this year to be in arsenals place ;)

Cant beat winning the european cup........oh sorry chelsea dont know :D

Come on england :p

but man u were champions before they spent loads of money in each position, and liverpool we champions without spending a fortune aswel in the 80s. Chelsea however didnt win shit before Mr Oil man came along and yes to me it is cheating because they aren't a company that can suport themselves they just reply on the dodgy money of their chairman. No other club in the world can loose 100 million and still be in business.

You lot make me laugh. If there was a Russian willing to takeover any of your clubs and allow you to spend what Chelsea are you would take it gladly. All I hear is sour grapes that it is unfair - yeah right

And as for cheating. Can you tell me one club in the premiership that hasn't scored a goal after handball, or has dived to win a decision? Or walked back so slowly from an attack that he is miles closer to the goal than any last defender and therefore gains a huge advantage (I am sure you recognise him hey Robert)? :D

It's not unfair that they've spent money to win, but let's face it they didn't stand a chance of winning the league before the Russian came. They're the biggest bunch of cheats and whingers in the premiership! Arsenal have proven success without spending lots and lots of cash. PLayers like Fabregas, Van Persie etc are just getting better down to the good set up at Arsenal - Wenger and the class players like Bergkamp and Henry helping them. And for us, our success is mainly down to 2 home grown players - Carragher becoming one of the best defenders there is and Gerrard showing how to be a wordclass midfield player. We can't afford to buy big name players, we spent £10million on Alonso but by the way he's playing that's gonna be a bargain. Kewell is coming on and Fowler, if he carries on, is gonna be the best free transfer since Gary McAllister

And your point is? Again all I hear is that it isnt fair 'cos the big boy has got lots of money and thats why he is winning. If one of those rich guys came to Liverpool promising millions you would all welcome him with open arms.

Read my first line again "It's not unfair that they've spent money to win"

And Col, you really don't know much about Liverpool to be honest. A lot of fans wanted investment from Morgan because he's a liverpool fan, no one wanted the deals with the American bloke or the Thai PM even though they had more cash. The majority don't want to be a PLC like Man United.

Oh please - don't kid yourself eh? The majority of Liverpool fans only want investment as long as the investor is a Liverpool fan? :rlol: The majority of fans (read 99.9%) of any football club want success. They would not care (and usually would not know) who the main investors are by name or what their nationality or backgrounds are either. All they want is to win as many trophy's as possible. Now, if you are telling me that Liverpool supporters would rather continue coming second to other sides than take money from investors who aren't die hard Liverpool fans than you are sadly deluded.

Whatever Col, i forgot you know so much about all this.

No it's not because he's a liverpool fan, the Thai PM says he's a Liverpool fan too. Morgan's outlined policies were to help success yes but he wasn't going to be active in the running of the club.

And as for investment....Glazer's take over of Man United has gone well hasn't it. I'd rather us keep being 2nd than have that sort of man running our club.

no way would i swap with arsenal, would be great to win the champions league but its a knock out competition at the end of the day, anyone in it stands a chance. to be champions of your own league over a full season is more important, ask fergie. are you saying we spent 270m on players? i dont think so. sorry for spoiling the party but no team has a devine right to win, you will just have to see what the rest of us have felt like for years.
