mkirby
Has to be said even though i'm a Man Utd fan well done to them, upto the second half i thought Man U were out playing them but its one of them when you commit too much going forward you can get hit and thats what happened so the score flattered them i think Saying that i was just reading about how much in the last 2 seasons the top 4 clubs have spent with Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal all spending around the 80-90 million mark and chelsea spending 270 million Now if it was my club i suppose i would not be bothered but from a football loving person i suppose it does make it very very hard for any other club to challenge them now because as they have over the last 2-3 years if anyone who is any good comes on the market they just buy them regardless if they actually want them?? Anyway they cant say there a great club until they have won the european cup like Man U and Liverpool Mike
Bill Prawn
Anyway they cant say there a great club until they have won the european cup like Man U and Liverpool Mike Oh yeah, just like Forest and Villa. Times change and 'great' clubs come and go. Today is Chelsea's time, just let their fans enjoy it.
merckx
Nor do any of the big teams compared to the smaller ones. You cant grumble You know what I mean though! Chelsea spent £175 million in transfer fees in 2003/04! Generally the success and wealth of the so called top clubs is built up over a long period of time , most of the money is generated internally. They haven't always been at the top but have got there deservedly. I wouldn't complain though if a billionaire wanted to takeover my local club. Bobbeh
I do know what you mean but thats the nature of the game But you can still have loads of money and buy great players who dont perform, Chelsea have gel'd well as a team and to comprehensively win 2 on the trott is good by any ones standard. AND more importantly imho, they've helped produce/culture some excellent English players in Lampard, Terry, and Joe Cole.

Liverpool and United are still great clubs. Will be interesting to see next season, Chelsea were worse this season than last season. Time for a good title challenge next season
Bill Prawn
They haven't always been at the top but have got there deservedly. Chelsea are one of the success stories of the Premier League as the table of all Premiership matches shows of games played and points scored. 1 Man Utd 542 1139 2 Arsenal 541 1004 3 Chelsea 542 930 4 Liverpool 543 928 5 Newcastle 501 783 6 Aston Villa 543 764 7 Tottenham 542 725 8 Leeds 468 692 9 Blackburn 466 689 10 Everton 543 676 Yes they have bought alot of expensive players recently but they had success on a small budget when Hoddle, Vialli and even Ranieri were in charge. Bill Prawn
Chelsea were worse this season than last season. 95 points last year 91 this with two games to play. Liverpool have improved as they only got 58 points last year. (79 this) The only way chelsea got worse was that they didn't retain a second rate trophy. Cough****money laundering****Cough :p

Last season you fancied them against anyone, this season they have been completely outplayed at times. Money helps, I'm pleased with our own progress this year because we really don't have much money at the moment with the stadium in the pipeline.
