Angarak
What's that? He placed a bet ages ago (when Rooney was a kid I believe) that Rooney would play for England in the 2006 world cup.

SupraStar 3000
I watch club football and like it, but when it comes to the world cup I wish the england team was taken away and wrapped in cotton wool until the first england match! Great!! Chelsea beat M.U,.... so what!!! It may have jeopardised OUR world cup!

SuperSupra
It's official he is out for a minimum of 6 weeks with a broken......guess what........yep you guessed it - FUCKING METATARSAL!!!!!! My god, a few years ago I'd never heard of the bone, now everyone seems to be breaking the bloody thing! Absolutely gutted, our already pretty slim chances gone imo on the same day as Man Utd even slimmer hopes for the title (struggling to not be happy cos now we can still finish 2nd! )

supra dan
6 weeks, well it's 40 days till the world cup starts, might see him after the first or second game then... dont bet on it, think they just said that to stop the nation going into depression
garetheves
tbh in my experience, 6 weeks is very optimistic unless its a very small hairline fracture. Any larger crack in the bone and you are looking at 12 weeks min. When he did his last one against Portugal that was only a small hairline crack, he limped off the pitch and was out for over 10 weeks IIRC. This time he goes off on a stretcher in obvious agony....dont put money on him starting a game.
bromy
Come on guys this will be a 22 man squad rooney or no rooney, I know he is a great player but one man does not win it, look at all the other great players we have, even though rooney will still be picked I think crouch will be a big suprise at the finals
