merckx
Anyone had any paint mixed at Halfords? I'm going to try and get some red - 3L2, did the UK cars use exactly the same paint as the Imports. I can't see why they would use anything different. I'm expecting them to say no when I tell them I've got an import though! Tried a couple of local body shops but I cannot get a good match. Think a RedM tried this and his turned out a pinky colour
Pete
I used it for a touch up stick last week. Perfect match. They measure it out on a digital scale and were exact with each ingrediant. I thought it was a good price for the time it took. Amazingly the main ingrediant in RSP is red!?
Max Headroom
Offered it in a pot or aerosol. very good match
merckx
I was watching the bloke mixing the paint, I know they use a digital scale but I didn't expect him to pour the incredients in by hand. I asked for the 3L2 red, the first colour he mixed was like a maroon colour. He looked at the computer and said there was a lighter shade also, the second effort didn't look too bad, haven't tried it yet though. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence! £9.99 for an aerosol isn't cheap, they didn't have enough for a 500ml tin.
CardiffSupra
While we'r on the topic of paint anyone know the halfords paint code for supra white?
Pete
£9.99 for an aerosol isn't cheap, they didn't have enough for a 500ml tin. But it takes nearly 10-15mins to mix it - well, if they're careful. Normal spray cans are £5 or more, so I thought a tenner wasn't too bad.
