Tell you what , you go and fit RLTC and then come back here and see what you thought of it.

We offer a £80 Discount on fitting RLTC if you buy the fields harness as it saves nearly 3 hours work.

ok point taken :) if it's that much of a time saver then I guess it's worth it... (still a lot for plugs and wires though!)

yep end of thread hijack, Martin I'll pm you about rltc fitting as this is relavant to me :)

Took me about an hour and abit to cut and solder the ECU wires in the passenger seat well on my RLTC, and I've never done it before. Only 6 wires cut and 2 spliced.

Well done Pete. Wanna job? What about health and saftey for my employee?

Ah! But I didn't say how long it took for me to do the ABS wires though....and remove the seat and carpet...mount the box...configure it etc. etc. ;) I didn't include tea break either.

That was just wires on the ECU loom.

I don't understand: how come I got it for less than £170 from the States FULL RETAIL and people on this board can't even match this price?

Dollar has gone down since, and no need for overseas postage etc.

Am I missing something?

Yes, but traders don't pay full retail, do they? And their postage costs would be spread amongst several other items in the same shipment (one would expect!)

Otherwise what's the point in having yet another link in the chain?

I understand VAT and a tenner profit (reasonable) --- still the prices I would see quoted in the UK were far in excess of that.

I am perplexed, bamboozled, dazed and confused:blink:

Depends who makes them and the pricing policy - these are obviously priced to get rid i..e £130.00 ($220) cost price for the harness and £40.00 delivery

If actually sold with a profit in mind then they would be approx £200 cost delivered to the trader

But what does it matter - everyone has a choice and no-one seemed to care about cost prices when Martin was doing fantastic HKS Cam prices etc?

Moon on a stick sir? :)

Somtimes its down to middle men, distributors etc.

If all manufacturers would sell direct to all traders the benifit would pass on to the public. Once the middle man is involved the prices go up, its an unecessary burden for all. Still, he who has in stock and can supply on demand deserves a decent profit.

Yes, 'vapourware' will always be cheaper than products that sit on shelves ready to be dispatched.

Unfortunately the potential market here is small, so it's not worth for a trader to buy a few dozens and expect to shift them any time soon.

So we're left with an inefficient system.
