Chris Wilson
Our Black Russian Terrier is now giving birth, we didn't expect them until Saturday! One girl and one boy so far! Looks like a sleepless night ahead Pics at ftp://ftp.chriswilson.tv/pups They aren't prettied up, so if you think pups come clean and dry it may be an eye opener All doing well so far, fingers crossed. Chris Wilson
We have a vet who would come out, but I am hoping he won't be needed. Hot water and towels nurse, and pass the whiskey....
Jake
Isn't nature mavellous and disgusting at the same time! Does the mother sever the umbilical cords herself or do you have to do it? Do dogs eat the placenta? I nearly barfed when our cat ate hers, I had no idea.

Chris Wilson
She had 11 pups, the last at 7.30 AM so no sleep at all. Sadly she lost 3, 2 still born, one died after a few minutes, but 8 is an excellent result for a first litter. She and the 8 pups are fine and dandy, she's been out for a reluctant walk, and been cleaned up a bit, as has her whelping box, so I can do a bit of work now! Thanks for the kind messages. Chris Wilson
We'll keep one, and with luck sell the others, so we'll only have to think of one new name, not eight!
