Paul R
Hi, How often do you change the oil in your cars? Mines done 4,200 miles since the last service. I was thinking of getting it serviced with oil change etc. Is it worth changing it yet? It's a completely standard J-Spec Supra TT. Paul.

jjgage
Hi mate, haven't really used anyone in edinburgh yet apart from Mackay trading (26 beaverbank place) which is where i got the car from. will have to start looking cos i'll need an oil change etc in the new year...after my 1500 miles of new turbos 'bedding in' ! Its been at leon's in milton keynes for the last 2 months getting the engine fixed after humongous detonation in may! maybe we could meet up for a chat sometime. cheers jonny
400BHP
You want Valvoline Synpower 5w50 its the business, ask Gaz at Envy, he'll do you a deal, as for the filter, don't bother with a TRD one, just get one from Toyota.
cashpoint
when you take the filter off have something to catch the oil that come out when you remove the filter as i had a small oil slick on my drive. Though that could have been because i didn't take the oil filler cap off to release any air locks.
Terminator
I try to change every 2500 to 3000, oil gets pretty cooked in a turbo engine driven hard. I have tried the lexus V and stock filter both OK
Paul R
I take it you have a heavily modified engine then?? Paul. Isnt the recommended service interval 6 or 12000 miles?? Paul.
Terminator
Not particularly just a heavy foot. Service is 9K and n 4.5 K if I remember rightly. More frequent changes are a good thing in any high performance engine. I have always halved the interval on everything I have owned since being given the advice by a well respected bike mechanic who did the first service on my first bike. His old Bonni had done many 100K and sounded as good as new, still had factory compression in the cylinders. Oil is relatively cheap and best thing you can do for any engine is put clean oil in it. 400BHP
I certainly concur.
