Guest awesome
I've driven a WRX Scooby and an Evo 7 and enjoyed it, but found that to feel like you're driving it to your limit, you really have to push it to crazy speeds round bends. I prefer being able to drive the Supra on the limit of it's grip (or, more usually, the limit of my driving ability!), and doing it at speeds where I know I can handle it if it gets out of shape. It feels like much more of a challenging, involving drive than a scooby in that sort of situation. Unfortunately, it's those bumpy back roads that are the ones where you know the cameras aren't watching and you can really hammer them in a 4wd. The Supra is better on a more open A road, but that's when you have to be careful about who might be watching...... Yep good point, I was tempted by an evo or scoob (test drove an sti) but again running costs were high. Would deffo think about a rwd next time tho. chilli
there is probably nothing like rwd to teach you how to drive properly, and nothing quite so dangerous when you havn't got used to it lol
Snooze
there is probably nothing like rwd to teach you how to drive properly, and nothing quite so dangerous when you havn't got used to it lol Precisely - I started out with an Escort and then a 16v Clio. It wasn't until I'd been driving for about 7 or 8 years that I got a BMW 328 (yeah, yeah - I know) and then the Supra a couple of years after that, and I still only feel like I'm just learning the limits of my driving ability. If I'd got the Supra (or even the BMW) five years before, I'm pretty sure I would have wrapped it round a tree (or worse) before not long. Hello Supra owners, I have recently bought a CTR and really got into the Jap performance scene. At the time I was looking to get a hatch, the Clio (and a battered one at that!) was all my budget could stretch to - a CTR would have been great - have fun out there, mate! Will hopefully blag my mate into a test drive of his Supra but I might have to pay him for the privelege! I know what you mean about the rwd - there are quite a few posts on the CTR forum of people who have bought S2000s and wrapped them round lamposts / trees etc as they are not used to the drive......! I will proceed with caution next rwd I take out!
Guest dee_rz
driven the s2000 drives well but yet snappy at the same time still great drive, as to the vid not sure he'd get it round the clock like that weather it was doctor'd vid i don't know yes he has about another 50bhp than i had in my ctr but i don't think it would pull round the rev counter mine wouldn't go nothing speed wouldn't go up nothing like, that looks good but you can never tell with these vids, doesn't seem like the supras trying, best way to tell how a car would fair against another on a road rolling is to look at quarter mile terminals speeds it gives you a good indiction as to what would happen, think a ctr would have to have a like to like bhp (i.e supra has 380bhp and ctr has 380bhp) to stay with a supra to about 140-150 leepons but beyond the supra keeps pulling yes ctr has less weight by a fair bit but supra has much more torque much better gearing and better drag co-offecient but i'd never condone doing those speeds on public roads anyways unless dead quite with no-one around.... but then again we are only taking leepons anyways
