I'd be happy to BE the local guy for Hampshire / South, but I don't really see how people outside of the expected catchment area can help, sorry. Ok, I am the "area" rep for Scotland, and am helping a guy up there set up the event in June. and I am 3 counties away from the location, but he is doing the local stuff, i am promoting through the club. How does the area rep promote events through the club? I'm not trying to be snide, but what does the rep add in this sense? Support? Credibility? I've done a lot of event organising for clubs in the past, and in my experience it takes one or two people 'on the ground' (local) to do a load of leg work, and if the setup is right, then people may come along. Howver, proper success only comes from building up momentum - doing the event several times, and getting more people along each time, eg. Bolney. Small one-offs never work very well.
