RedM
We need a new VCR as ours has packed up after about 14 months. Our current model is a Toshiba V753UK which has pretty good picture quality and sound. We'd like a comparable unit but don't want to spend any more than £100 maximum. It'll spend 99% of it's life playing Buffy and Angel tapes and we don't record very much at all so don't need a DVD recorder or PVR. Any recommendations? Scoboblio
I've got one of these; http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0001ZN7UY/pricerunner-21/ref%3Dnosim/202-4447425-6092660 Although I use it very rarely the picture and sound are both good, and it's nice and quiet too I like it. Can find them in most highstreet retailers too I think.
Pete
I bought a JVC S-VHS recorder a couple of years back. I'm not a fan of JVC normally - but this recorder has been excellent. S-VHS is noticably better for recording even in this digital age. Like you though - I don't record much either.. or watch much VHS for that matter. JohnK
I know you say you dont need one but id buy a cheap dvd recorder and a very cheap VCR, copy all your tapes to DVD and dont look back. What will you do when the vcr you buy now dies, chances are you wont be able to get a vcr in a year or twos time.
