well today i was insuring my escort 1.4 and my brother was insuring his 1.3 ford ka. Anyway my brother phone me up and told me he had got insurance on his ka which also entitles him to drive any car third party for 600. So i decided to call the same company who charged me 1100 and stated i will be insured on my escort and also drive any car including the supra third party. I am well happy although its third party i guess its better than paying 3000 pounds and at least i can drive it this summer rather than it just parked outside my drive(for 3 years):)

you can't do that

if you drive another car 3rd party, that car must be insured by another person.

for example i could drive my friends car as i am fully comp providing he has insurance on it.

if you could do this then you would have people with 5 sports cars and insure an escort so they can drive them all.

also you need to be over 25 to drive another car 3rd party

and why would you want to drive a supra 3rd party only?

Edit: sorry to whip it out and urinate all over your fireworks :D

mr brother asked them and he stated that my dad does not have inurance on the vtr saxo and they said he can still drive it

you might wanna check that again Jazz, i'm not trying to spoil things for you, but when it comes to insuring a soop you wanna make sure you cover your arse and everyone elses for that matter.

it might be the case for a traders policy

i thought you could drive any other car 3rd party aslong as it isnt registered to you???(might be talking crap again). Im paying a lot for insurance but no point having a nice car you can't drive.

The car has to have its own insurance though, you can't drive a car that is not covered by its own policy.

If the supras not registered in your name and is insured by someone else ie your dad then a fully comp policy that allows you drive any car third party will allow you to drive the supra, that’s the only way. I mean how you would get the road tax if that supra has no actual insurance policy. Why is your insurance 3K how old are you?

Ok, lets say the car is not insured at all, and you drive it 3rd party, then park it up, you leave it and then it rolls off down the hill killing someone. Who's insurance is responsible?, not yours because you are not driving it, so the car was uninsured. every car on the road has to have its own policy of insurance. Its only down to you when you are driving it but it still has to have its own insurance.

:bobby: I'm sorry mate, the supra needs to have its own insurance, otherwise you could insure a mini fully comp, then say third party on a 355 ferrari that you also own. Everyone would do this otherwise.

Trust me, I send people to court for this regularly.

ok so if i ask the company tommorow and they agree that i will be covered even if the supra int insured by the owner and i was stopped by the police i could get away with it right?

No, When you park the car on a road somewhere and leave it unattended, its uninsured, you can't have a car on a public road with no insurance.
