Terminator
Just a thought, but if you have a flat and go for a jump start, make sure you turn of any additional electrics if you can. I can’t confirm yet, but I have a suspicion that someone’s RLTC dat file was scrambled due to a jump start recently.

Nick_TC
And extra extra caution if you've got Air bags. You'd be much wiser to go and invest in a cheap booster pack, much safer and always handy.

Terminator
Originally posted by peter richards naughty boy phil, is it fixed now m8:p I wish it was so simple, not me. I have a guaranteed for life battery. It is amazing, I have left lights on before now due to turbo timer not allowing me to hear the warning that lights are on. Come back to the car and CLICK. Turn off the lights go and have a cup of coffee half hour later away we go:) Done it twice now and it worked both times. My RLTC has beaten me, trying a swap with a known good unit mid week, then back to RL for investigation.
400BHP
When you jump start, you should always place the earth on the engine not the battery, this allows for better cranking.

LOL, I have done exactly that at work before. Highly embarrasing. Also, my RLTC settings were definitely scrambled by a jump start. Had to jump the car in Spain this summer after I'd left it with the interior light on for 2 days (bloody passenger!). The cut table was slightly scrambled and no longer a uniform pattern, which led to it juddering when it cut if you see what I mean. My ABS warning light ame on and stayed on until I stopped the car and started it again a while later too.
Roy
phil - does this sound familiar by any chance ? seems like that's most likely the problem ...
