Mmmmm, Vegas - dunno what it is about Vegas but I love it there.

Could it be the look of total desperation on the faces of most there. Or maybe it is the cheap all you can eat buffets. Who knows it might even be the fact that you can pick up a crack whore on just about every corner. :D

Good fun if you like to gamble but otherwise L.V. is a shit hole.

I was there a couple of months ago for a mates stag week.

Had a blast, but it's not somewhere I'd want to stay too long. The ringing of the slot machines really got on my t*ts after a while !!

Hmmmm, showgirls....

Have a good one mate.

Sorry Bill, it is a tourist trap in the middle of the desert. Fun if you like to gamble but not the sort of place that I would recommend to people who were taking a trip to the States. ;)

We went to LV as part of a two week tour. Started in LV for 3 nights, then jump in the Mustang convertible and went to San Francisco via LA, Santa Monica, Santa Barbara, Monterey etc and then 5 nights in San Fran.

So to be fair, we didn't spend that long in LV, long enough to see the Grand Canyon etc.

I really liked it in LV tho, and I didn't gamble ! I mean come on, the first morning I came downstairs, I could still taste the toothpaste and yet the first thing I saw in the lobby ? Showgirls on stilts !!! Where else can you be met by a pair of leggy blonds in suspenders on your way to breakfast - legally !!!

This was down the hall from the booth where you could win $10,000 by playing tic-tac-toe with a chicken !!!

Maybe two weeks would get on your tits, but I had fun - AND that's where I had my first Denny's breakfast, I so wish you could get a 'Moons over my hamy' here :D

You'll have fun Bill mate, but it'll be warm in July !!!

Concur. As an American, I always tell my friends who aren't natives that are going to visit the U.S. not to focus on L.V. It's a very poor representation of what the country is like like. I've been there 5 times, usually for two weeks at a stint, and have come to the conclusion that if you're going for vacation, three days is perfect. Get away from there and go somewhere other than L.A. and San Fran. There are way too many great places to see other than the big cities. I can't say that enough. While you're in Vegas though, I highly recommend hanging out at any of the newer big casino hotel pools during the day and the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino bar at night. The club there is good as are the clubs at "RA", "54", & "The Beach". Rum Jungle is a great bar and of course you should go to "The House of Blues". If you tire of the Las Vegas scene and crave a taste of home, go to the "Crown & Anchor" on East Tropicana. It's a small "British Pub" I almost always visit when there. The food is good as is the beer selection and there's almost always a football/rugby/cricket match on. Enjoy.

Yep, we have a great night in RA, and the Rum Jungle do some of the best cocktails I've ever had. The pub in the Monte Carlo hotel is also a nice spot, huge steak sandwiches and 5 litre towers of beer, cheap too.

It's a full on party town, nothing more.
