Angarak
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts regarding my boost gauge and some peak hold gadget that may be linked to it. I have a J-Spec TT, and I've spent the last 2 days replacing both of the vacuum pipes on the actuator for the EGBV as one of them had rotted off causing boost leak and preventing tubby #2 from pre-spooling. Took it out for a spin today to make sure it was alright and Im pleased to say it was. However, on wide open throttle with both turbo's online a light on my boost guage lit-up when I reached 0.8bar. The boost didnt rise beyond 0.8bar (as far as Im aware it shouldnt). The car did come with a HKS EVC-EZ boost controller, which is OFF by default and I've move it's dial as far anti-clockwise as it will go to ensure the car should be running stock boost levels (as it still has both cats inplace) even if it was ON. Im wondering if the boost gauge light means that Im at peak boost or if it is some kind of warning. The car also came with some "electronic peak hold turbo meter" gadget, I havent a clue what it does or how to use it. I think it may have come with the boost gauge as the font used for "turbo" looks the same on both of them. Any idea's? terribleturner
Seems like warning light to me. Is there anything on the back that can be adjusted??
Angarak
Bloody hell that was quick! I've not had a look at the back of the gauge, I'll try to make time tomorrow to have a look.
terribleturner
Sorry being blind, on that box you will probably have to hold down PEAK and adjust, but check with the manual first.
chilli
that box has a plus minus adjustor on it, is it not that then?
Angarak
Cheers guys. Im afraid I dont have a manual for it, nor have I been unable to google anything for it. The Supra is my 1st turbo'd car and Im not familiar with 'peak hold turbo meters' so Im edging on the side of cowardice with regards to touching it. Pete
It just means you can set the warning level where you want. I set my decat TT gauge to warn me at 1.1 bar.
Angarak
Cheers Pete. I'll build up the courage to have a play with it later
