I has to say that this bloke seems abit of a childish Tosser. I have, dare i say it....a clio sport cup with a few mods...(was trying to save money for my nexct supra,..and have fun)...and my friend works at a renaut gge as a senior technician, so he can take whatever car he wants for "test drives". Anyway he took the V6 out one day and i met up with him...there was absolutely nothing in it until approx 120 leptons...then the 3ltr shows its the bigger brother.

Not to mention i was at the pod in feb, and saw one running all day...couldnt get below 14.2 all day long!!

At the end of the day they do look pretty smart...but as it has been so rightly mentioned they are french...unreliable...and really not that fast whatsoever!!!

I think the top speed of a Supra is 167mph.

Anyway, my stocker slaughtered a V6 Phase 2 on a 80-130mph roll-on, and my MR2T wasted a phase1 on a roll-on of similar speeds. I've also acheived a higher speed in the confines of Brunters that what Renault claim for the fastest V6- and I bet it can't do it in under 2 miles either.

I'd tell your missus to play along, and soon enough he'll have enough rope to hang himself.

My wife works with a bloke who reckons Supras are slow. He asked her last week what's the most she had out of it (150), he said "pah! I've had 180 out of my Lexus, I'd eat your Supra". Now I thought I'd have a quick look at his motor today- expecting to see a SC430 convertible- it was a IS200!!!!

FFS the Clio V6 was never a match for the supra TT whatever planet you are on!

It's not even worth arguing, it's chalk and cheese. The V6 isn't even that great compared to other hot hatches, let alone a proper supercar!

ps: the stock top speed is either 181 or 186 depending on what you read. Also, the supra is so easy to BPU, at BPU it would totally demolish the french dog poo.

get him out on the road and leave him standing, if your car runs well then you will destroy it.

also, wasnt the supra like nearly 50k, and at 10 years old or more still worth not far off the nearly new clios, they won't be worth much in a few more years, mega depreciation on what can only be considered average at best.

If i'm not mistaken i think they were about 45k but please correct me if i'm wrong.

Theres been one of these for sale down the road from me. It went up for sale before my supra did and its still for sale now. I think that says it all as I stuck out 8 months for a good price for mine. Obviously no-one wants his car :) Its just been sat there as well hasn't moved an inch by the looks of it

did you just call supra a hatchback? thats bad mate , I wouldnt ever say that respect your car fella.:p

I'm sorry, but I've changed the rear hatch rubber stops, as well as one of the hatch latches.

Maybe I was daydreaming though...

Toyota themselves quote 180 for the US-Spec (slightly less powerful than the mighty UKSpec:sly: :taped: )

You need to pull the TRAC fuse to go over 155.

Isn't peak power at 5800rpm (although my dyno sheet shows 6200rpm)???

With the stock engine, gearbox, final drive, and tyre sizes it could be worked out (by someone smarter than me).
