Daston
there are more V6 Clio's where I live than supras so dont think they are uncommon at all
chilli
The cheaper Clio 182 is better, as it's almost as fast and can actually go around corners. Insider knowledge says the V6 handling is really really poor... that's exactly what I heard, they don't go as well or handle as well as the monsterous body kit and mid-engined 'ideal' would lead you to believe, overall the 182 is a better hot hatch. there are more V6 Clio's where I live than supras so dont think they are uncommon at all my next door neighbour has one too, so they must be common lol, anyway I think he only uses it to pose in lol - probably about all you can do with it. he used to lord it around in it, reving it up and stuff ouside the house as if it were the business, since I got the supra I've hardly seen it, I think he got upset when I told him it's probably good for 190mph... Kopite
forget the whole racing idea, just hit him in the face, preferably with a brick Words of the wise Clio V6s look quite nice but are not worth the £. Faster than a TT supra, no chance! As for Supras been common, i don't think they are. Apart from at meets i never see them. As Ian C said, handling on the Clio is shocking, pretty sure it was slated on Top Gear for that very reason. Someone put a stock TT up against him and sort him out. JohnA
My supra is virtually standard (compared to any of the modified cars on this board). It cost less than a fourth of his French wonder. He can modify his Clio as much as he wants (filters, exhausts, the lot!) We could pick a long, empty stretch and give it some. Winner takes keys, loser walks. colsoop
I raced one of these at the ice rink (santa pod) and i was stock and beat it by 3 tenths. That guy sounds like he is trying to justify his purchase.
JohnA
On a long straight where the soop can stretch it's legs, the Clio doesn't stand a chance.
CardiffSupra
This guy sounds like a clown, he spent 20odd grand on a clio sport with a body kit.
Pete
He has a point though. Supras are far more common than V6 Clios....but then what does that tell you?

Pete
Ha ha - on Autotrader you can buy a 1.4 RT with full V6 bodykit for 4995! Cheapest V6 is 10,995 at the mo. I quite like them. Prefer the Supra obviously, but still quite like 'em for their individuality and daring to be different.

JohnA
lol you starting that 'pre race physicology' already, it's good, damn even I wan't to race you now lol You should have seen a poor guy I prepped many-many years ago. He had just bought a suzuki GSXR750R, the first liquid cooled ones. 112bhp, unheard of horsepower from anything below 1000cc. He was a newbie, I was on my moped. Commented on how cool it was etc, he was smiling like a peacock. Then I asked him how many valves/cyl it had (as if I didn't know:d ) 4, he said --- pfffff I went, too many, too much weight. My 750 has 2, so there is less mass and it revs faster.Hmmmmm.....(he thought) Then I asked him if it's watercooled (of course I knew, but up to then Suzuki was pushing 'oil-cooled' technology) YES, he said proudly. State of the art.Pfffff....my 750 is aircooled, so there is less weight and it goes faster.Hmmmmmmmm(he thought) Then I asked him what sort of carbs he had (can't remember now, but they were massive in diameter) Pffff...my 750 has no carbs so it has less weight and goes even fasterHmmm... (he thought) .................... It went on like this, his tyres were wider than mine (180 vs 130 or something like that) so mine was lighter and faster. Mine was a 1984 model his was 1990 (or later?) so it HAD to be faster  Then I told him that mine would be faster anyway, since it was a Kawasaki and they are always faster than Suzukis. That was enough, he asked me to shut up or put my money where my mouth was. I turned up on my 750turbo, bored up to 810 with a clothing-peg-spring holding the actuator shut. He lost big time.
