Supra TT vs Clio V6

What's everyones thoughts on this? I know the V6 is very fast but I've just had this email forwarded to me from some bloke that works with my misses who thinks Supras are slow, cheap and common.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

had it in the basement on Thursday - got a few directors admiring it !

I checked the stats online - the V6 is NOT a charva car ,,

Charva cars are cheap - as charvas don't have money - this car costs £27,000 new - yours is common and can be bought for £10,000 upwards and 19,000 new (that's ££8,000 cheaper than mine!!!)

My 0-60 is better by 0.8 seconds (not much in it!)

0-40 is 0.6 faster - so that's faster but as you can see its beating you the faster it goes

60-100 is 1.8 seconds faster than yours

So again its getting ever faster now and would be leaving it by quite a bit

Then the top speed of both stock cars ...

Supra - 155 mph (171 mph unregulated).

255 V6 - with a top speed of 245 km/h (152 mph

So 3mph faster at top end (but Since the car has more power behind it and is lighter - its unregulated speed is faster still at - (175 mph unregulated).

I'll bring it back into work in the next few weeks as I have to travel to Charles Mays house again - so you can see it then (and its nice leather interior :D - Quality )

Here what i would do:

Firstly go into work,tell the guy NO, he carnt go out with your missus, kick him in the balls for being so pathetic anyway, then correct him in stating that his new car is worth more cos the new twin turbo Supras were worth 40K back in the day when they were new. Then ask him what sounds better;

I drive a Clio, but is a V6 tho!

or, i drive a supercar, a toyota Supra.

Then tell him that the car he owns is essentially a french renault clio with a phat bum

Anyway, BPU supras should be faster,

sounds like this v6 guy is trying too impress your missus, sort him out.

yeah that...

what a smuch... my Missus has a Clio and it's good... but it's really a girls car... it's a Clio for christ sake what is this guy on?!

If he had £27k to spend why on earth did he think "hey, I'll get the big Clio"... I'm sorry, I know it's fast and expensive, but it's like the XR3i of the Clio world...

I would ask him to get some bollocks and be a grown up...

FFS the Clio V6 was never a match for the supra TT whatever planet you are on!

It's not even worth arguing, it's chalk and cheese. The V6 isn't even that great compared to other hot hatches, let alone a proper supercar!

ps: the stock top speed is either 181 or 186 depending on what you read. Also, the supra is so easy to BPU, at BPU it would totally demolish the french dog poo.

get him out on the road and leave him standing, if your car runs well then you will destroy it.

also, wasnt the supra like nearly 50k, and at 10 years old or more still worth not far off the nearly new clios, they won't be worth much in a few more years, mega depreciation on what can only be considered average at best.

Not sure about those stats, either.

Quick search on google turned up:

Maybe he was comparing to an N/A Soop? It should beat an N/A in a straight line - both 3l engines, with the Clio about 100Kg lighter.

Must admit, I don't mind the V6 for a hothatch. They are very short wheelbase and RWD with no traction control, so they can be a real fun handful to drive, but in a straight line, not even close to a turbo soop!

The cheaper Clio 182 is better, as it's almost as fast and can actually go around corners. Insider knowledge says the V6 handling is really really poor, and the engine was a last minute panic decision when the original choice fell through.

I'd happily laugh in his face at his assertions that a Clio isn't a chav car and it's faster than a Supra :D Berk.

Came across both Version 1 and 2 Clio V6's in my BPU UK, and left both for dust, off the block we were level for around the first 20 metres then just left em..! Also saw the V6 on 5th Gear I think it was, and they have the turning circle of a super tanker..! Still nice to look at though, and sound nice to, drove the first version and kinda enjoyed it.!

Yeah, hes saying that clio V6's are rare, well there just top of the range clios. What about the model differances in Supras!?! TT, only 640 odd sold in Britain?!

I think hes taking into the account all the jap imports... otherwise he wouldnt really be able to argue the point about the cheapness and amount available.

Sadly he owns a Renault, and thats an embrassment itself, no matter how quick it is ;)

I agree with Rich ^
