If so then no you won't need a restrictor ring but you will need something to raise the boost. ie an EBC or manual bleed valve. I wouldn't over boost UK spec turbos too much though. They can't take it, despite what some UK groupies will tell you. J-spec ceramic turbos are usually fine to 1.1 or 1.2 bar. Some folks have run 1.3 for years with no problems. I've got a spare set sitting in the garage, so I won't get depressed if they kick the bucket. 2. They don't compress pure air, but misty stuff. The compressors behave quite differently (although I can't say if it affects overspeeding at all. I'd need a shaft rpm gauge for that) 3. The cylinders do not see funny temperatures, mainly due to water/meth, so detonation is not an issue 4. The oil is always fresh synthetic, I am a bit anal on this one.
