RedM
Went out early this morning. No-one about at all. Nice wide road with NO HOUSES OR ANYTHING along it, just countryside. 30 leading to 50 limit. Driving along at about 35-37 and round a bend is a friggin camera van. I was so annoyed I didn't even brake, just came of the gas and prepared to make the left turn I needed. So, probably got a fine and points coming but let's have a think about it. 7am Empty road No houses, shops, pedestrians or fuck all Gotta be out making money. Road safety? Fuck off. Fifty
revenue collection for sure; you can find em here on the A38 on bits of road where there has never been an accident - straight dual carriageway; they turn up regular as clockwork to catch holiday makers. Kopite
Definately revenue collection. If you were doing 35-37 then you might get away with it (assuming it's your speedo and not GPS)
RedM
It's my speedo. God, I hope so. I use that road every day and as it's near where I live I pootle along at 30 and let the engine warm up. Never rag it down there and this one time I'm going a little over and there is a pig wagon there. Not seen one on that stretch in at least two years. Max Headroom
Dont panic just yet, wait and see if you receive an NIP then go from there.
jamesmark
ok its 3 points if you dont get away with it but 3 points is not that bad anymore tbh most insurance companies only take an intrest if its over
Kev.O
I think this is completely wrong. I live near a school and the only time I've seen the road safety car is on a sunday. That's hardly a fair representation of the general traffic speed during school hours!
Pixelfill
Martin, last year I found myself in a similar predicament, speedo indicated about 36 in a 30 past a camera wagon, hoping engine braking would bring me down to speed. I'm still waiting for that NIP . Hopefully you'll get the same treatment from the West Yorkshire Police. Mike
